PES University hosted an intercollegiate PACE Course Competition on November 18-20 with fellow PACE institution SJCE. The objective of this competition was to impart innovative part-modeling ideas, and unleash the creative talents of students in product design and innovation. This platform provided an opportunity for the students to get trained with the best professionals from the industry and academia.
The event started with an intensive training for the first two days followed by the PACE Course Competition on the final day. The training program dealt with several aspects pertaining to drafting, part modeling, assembling and surface-modeling.
For the competition on the third day, the teams were given a component drawing and were assigned the task of drafting, modeling and assembly. The teams’ performances were evaluated by Mr. Anantha Krishnan, Senior Group leader, General Motors Tech Center India and faculty of PES University. The evaluation criterion was based on the dimensional accuracy, modeling, assembling of parts and sectioning. Twenty four students of 5th and 7th semesters from PES University and SJCE, Mysore participated in the training and competition.
The event concluded with a valediction function where the winners were announced. Niranjan and Rajath from PES University bagged the first place. Srinidhi and Muhammed Anshad from SJCE, Mysore won the second place. While, there was a tie for the third place and was shared by two teams from PES University. Congratulations to the PES University and SJCE, Mysore students on a job well done!
